Not ALL male iguanas get aggressive during breeding season. My friend's 5 year old male iguana gets rather clingy to female humans during breeding season, but doesn't bite. He also gets rather excited when a female walks by in green or blue and some shades of purple.
I've heard of male iguanas trying to mate with their female owners, and some female owners claim that their male iguana is more aggressive during that special time of the month.
Remember that just like all people aren't the same, all iguanas aren't the same. You could be making a mountain out of a molehill. I've also heard of castoration for male iguanas, but I've read close to nothing on this subject so I don't completely trust it.
