Though I've heard stories about aggressive male igs, I haven't witnessed any of this with mine. I had a big male for 9 years who I had to give away when I went to college, and never had a problem with him except for a few months of tail-whipping when he was about 2. This ig bit me once, when my hand was between his hungry mouth and his food (an accident I'm sure), and neither of the iguanas I have now, both males, bite. One of mine doesn't like to be handled, and will whip if you grab him at the wrong time, but that's just how he is. I have a theory that a lot of UVB or especially direct sunlight brings out the beast in lizards, has anyone else noticed this? As for castration, I've heard it's risky and only is effective in curbing aggression if the if is still young.
