By my understanding, a thermostat to control all your heat sources can be very expensive.
Has anyone considered using a dimmer switch to adjust their heating elements and basking lights. It would seem to me as if this would be a low-cost solution, and the temperature can be "dialed in" until the correct heat is found. This would also make it easy to change from "winter heat" to "summer heat".
Has anyone done this, or is anyone interested in finding out more?
