I know that a dimmer isn't the same as a thermostat, and that you'd have to watch the cage temps. Just thought it was a simple way to regulate a more even temp in some enclosures.
And I know that lamp dimmers are usually good for up to 500 watts, but I'm electronically-inclined enough that I could build my own dimmer of any amperage rating (up to 1000 amps if I really felt like it).
Just thought someone might like a few cost-cutting tips.
After all, sharing ideas is what this forum is all about.
