What do u think about comercial diets?

I dont feed Hito collard and mustard greens all the time because I buy them and 4 days after theyre spoiled because Hito cant eat them all. He is still too baby. What I do is one week of comercial food with a little mix of carrots, orange peels (the white part), dandelions, hibiscus, and any thing he likes once in a while. Then, another week of mustard greens almost exclusively, and then other of collard greens. Is that too bad? At least I dont lose a lot to spoiling. Does anyone has a good recipe with collards or mustard greens??
