Checked on my temps this morning, I think I'm gonna get a dark blue 25-30 watt light
for night-time, this will keep the basking area temp about 85-88 and the opposite end
about 76! I used a 40 watt incadescent with my UVB and the basking area temp was 95 and the
opposite side where the food and water is, was 77, this will probably go up during the day as
the sun warms up the overall temp(75 at night and 80-85 day) of the room! My UVB is about 7 inches
from the basking area and I had to lift my basking light to about 8 or 9 inches. I wanted the basking
area as close to the UVB as possible so he could get the much needed D3. Playing with my temps seems
to be the most difficult, the IG seems pretty calm except when you got to pick him up, but once you get
a hold of him he takes it easy, hadn't seem him bite at me yet, he licks me when I put my finger in his face!
He does have a few loose skin ridges on his side, so I hope he starts eating the salad I mixed up so I can fatten him up!
Again, do I need to chop up the collard and turnip green leaves or put the whole leaf in the cage?????
Is it ok to mist the cage every day and I also have a humidifier, but its a big room(300-350 sq. feet),
also have a shallow basin(12" long, 6" wide, 2" deep) under the basking area so he can wade in, I replace the water daily with warm water?
He stays on the warm side of the aquarium that I have noticed, but in order to eat he's gotta go to the other side, but he's been
in his new house less than 24 hours, guess by observing time is a lot lower also.
How often should I get him out and let him crawl around on my arm and keep him out of his enclosure?
Sorry, I get long winded, my wife has fell in love with him, he has so much more personality and spunk than
my Leopard Gecko! Thanks for everything!
My wife named my IG "Ziggy"
