Hi All,
I hope everyone and their critters are enjoying the playoffs. At least one
of the teams I was pulling for won. That would be which ever it was that was
playing Dallas. LOL Igmom!
I have decided on a course of treatment for Xaveir and was wondering what
you people might think of it, especially the levels of medicines.
For those of you that don't know, Xaveir is around 10-12 years old and has
lost down to 7.7 lb. from his high of 9 lb. in July. The blood work has been
inconclusive but 'may' point to liver problems.
I am dosing him with .05mg of Colchicine every other day. The normal human
dose is .5 or .6mg per day. The dose I am using works out to 1/20th of an
adult human's. Colchicine is used normally for reducing gout attacks and for
some liver ailments.
The second thing I'm doing is giving him .5mg of Silymarin powder daily.
It's a derivative from Milk Thistle which is a herb used to improve liver
function in impaired individuals. I am dosing at 1/10th of the human dose
daily.
Lastly, I'm giving him a B complex in an effort to stimulate his appetite.
I'm using a Ca and mineral free product at the rate of 1/10th the human dose
daily.
I will be cross posting this to several places in an attempt to get some
feed back.
Thanks, Johnny/Iguana03
