Is it ok to stain a wood cage? Thanks Harry's Dad and IZ's Mom and everyone!

Thanks for all the info, looking forward to some pics, so I can get some more Ideas.
I want to try and build the cage to the heat specifications of the iguana. Still a little confused
on if its better to build a solid enclosure or more open one and which is actually better for the iguana.
I think I am leaning toward solid back, open sides and front, solid top and about 2 ft all around solid to create
that heat pocket? Plus, it will give him a hide place in a way.
What's the best way to put the lights on with a solid top, that's kinda one reason I wanted a wire top.
Should the UV light go all the way across the top? Got any pics on how to position the heat lights and UV lights, that would be great!
Looking forward to the pics of cages and salad recipe ideas!
