Ijuana in the Wild

I have a 4-5 year old and four foot iguana that I
purchased at Pet Supermarket. He lives outside in a
large cage. I want to let him go in Crandon Park wild
life refugee. I live on Key Biscayne and there is a
wildlife area in Crandon Park with hundreds of ijuanas
like mine. I heard that if I let him go, he will die
because he is use to food being delivered to him
everyday. I think he would be happier in the wild.
Does he have a chance of surving on his own with all
the other ijuanas around?
Please advise
