wild life from captivity. If this is a captive -bred lizard it may very well have little or no survival skills based on instinct. If released into the "wilds" of Key Biscayne (which will do nothing for the ecology down there, wild life preserve or no) he may very well die of any number of things.
If it is simply a humane gesture to let him go then we thank you for your good intentions as I'm sure that most of us have at one time or another felt the same as you. If you can no longer care for him for whatever reason then, like the others, I suggest that you find a knowledgable rescue/adoption group willing to take him.
Releasing him into the "wild" (that sounds so strange to me since, to the best of my knowledge iguanas have never been indigineous to the U.S.) will not be doing him any favors...
