i'm afraid it can easily be a burn :(
the best thing to do (and that many people fail to do) is go immediatly to a vet, when something is wrong. waiting for e-mail or forum reply may not always be the best way to get help, even if a lot of people around here are experts, and know what they're talking about. that's as much as i can say to you. But:
is the cage always clean? it has to be frequently cleaned and disinfected, especially now.
are the lamps too close? does the cage have a hot-rock? i've seen burns that look brownish/black on monitor lizards, and they can get infected easily, and cause more problems. the also take a long time to heal!
good luck, and keep us informed!
: She tells me that Lizzie has a dark spot that has turned from brown to black on the side of her body, she thought it may be shed but when she tried to help her (as she always does) she could tell that it hurt, so she stopped and put a light coat of Polysporin on it. Could someone tell me what this could be and how she can treat it if there is something specific in the market. It isn't a burn, is it? I neeadvice because I only own leopard geckos and don't know much about iguanas. Thanks in advance...
