Thanks to everyone for all the advice. Some responses and a few more questions.
Iguana purchase time is somewhere between 1-2 months away.
This lizard will be kept away from bearded dragons, for the bearded dragons protection.
Every single pet store employee I talked to said that if you wanted Iggy to be a meanie (which is the complete opposite of my goals here) feed him crickets, but that going without them would make the lizard sickly. Shows what most pet store employees know.
I've also read that Iguanas don't need a basking area as long as their cage is on the higher end of the recommended range. This sounds like bull to me.
I'm all about rescuing an Iguana vs. Buying one from a pet store, if anyone could make a suggestion to where I could find a few rescue locations, I'd be a happy camper.
Could someone go into more detail about the varieties of Iguana and their differences in care and temprament? Leave out Fiji since I won't be purchasing those.
Answer this question: an Iguana out grows a 75 gallon fish tank when he is____ feet long.
How do Iguanas like to be held touched petted?
I will not be breeding my iguana.
Any other advice?
Thanks
