< Could someone go into more detail about the varieties of Iguana and their differences in care and temprament?> < Answer this question: an Iguana out grows a 75 gallon fish tank when he is____ feet long.> < How do Iguanas like to be held touched petted?> They probably for the most part DON'T like to be pet'd, but most put up with it and a few don't!! Supporting their body from underneath is needed, to assure they don't feel like they will fall. stoking their neck area is a favorite of many here. Note: watch out for their tails, iguanas can release their tails if they feel threaten, then you will be standing there with a tail in your hand and a iguana without it!! < I will not be breeding my iguana.> : Any other advice? I believe I forgot to post the address to my site....here it is iguanaFIRST.com , it's under construction so just scroll down to the bottom and find the links for the different sites to check out. Also Melissa K. site has rescue listings that you can check out. Also NIAD has links too.
There are two types that I know of that would be like what you are looking for. 1 is the green iguana and the other is a rhino. Although chances are you won't find a rhino available by adoption. They are expensive.
This depends on the size of the 75 gallon tank...if it's a tall model....under a year most likely....if it's a wide model tank...you might get 1 1/2 years out of it. If you are considering buying a 75 gallon tank....forget it, you're throwing your money away. Use the money and build a custom cage.
THANK YOU !! :)
I would get in touch with Lola's mom and let her link you up with a rescue group in your area. She has informed me that she's willing to help find you a group in your area.
