Baffled by lighting set-up

I have a 2' Ig that I rescued apprx. 8 months ago. My intention was to find a home for him but in the process I have fallen in love and I'm probable keeping him. He's being housed in a 4'w x6'h x 3'w cage that I made from hardware cloth and 2 x4's. How do I set up the proper heating and lighting in such a cage without running the risk of fire hazard or bodily injury if he decides to jump on top of the lamps? I'm not a reptile novice. I have 2 Bearded Dragons as well, but they're housed in a tank. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
