My iguana used to poop anywhere she wanted to in her cage. She never just chose one spot.
I have her in a really large enclosure, and keep the door open so she comes to hang out whenever she wants.
I bought a regular size kitty litter box, not the type with a hood on it, just an open type. I filled it with Lizard Litter. I could usually tell when she was ready to poop, so, I would put her in that box. It took some time, but, now she poops in her box all the time. I think she realizes it keeps her cage really clean.
