"up a creek without a paddle"!! Aren't you on the Iguana Mailing List? I haven't looked there today yet. I'd run this by the folks there, too. Be sure to explain (re-explain) at the START that you are on an island, etc. Your regular vet could access the medical handbook for iguanas written by Dr. Mader to help him.
I hate to see you throw money down a well trying all kinds of diagnostic tests because your vet isn't a herp vet.....but it doesn't sound like you have much of a choice right now.
Loss of appetite/wt. - could be parasitic in nature; fecal exam. If meds needed for it, there are "preferred" ones and the dose (I believe) is calculated by weight.
lump - calcium deposit? mineral deposit (but isn't calcium a mineral?) old break mending?; x-ray to determine some of this
lump being caused by deposits? - blood panel would help here but they have to know how to read it and the lab probably doesn't have a clue as to what is normal or abnormal in an iguana
Things YOU can check - make sure you have the right temps going; make sure you are using UVB tube; get natural, unfiltered sunlight if at all possible to do safely; try to feed a diet that is 2:1 ratio in calcium to phosphorous; use calcium carbonate as your supplement.
If you can find someone who will consult by phone with your vet, this will be your best bet. Whereas a lot of us can guess and second guess what is going on (and probably be right or almost right *grin*), I don't think any of us are vets and therefore can't diagnose. We can, however, appreciate the hard spot you find yourself in right now.
