Well...you aren't going to like what I say, but find and take him to a reptile vet ASAP. The lump sounds like something that needs to be taken care of like NOW. If your state has a vet school, call them and ask for a recommendation. Check the site below for someone (vet) near you. Personally, if I called any vet who told me that they didn't have much knowledge on reptiles, I would head, no run in another direction!
