Questions about Sammy's Nose

Last summer Sammy's nose suffered from the chicken wire. That is fixed with mail order internet material. Sammy started summer with a scab. That scab keeps turning yellow and peels off then turns yellow and etc, etc. Overall, the nose is now taking on the ridges and color that should be there underneath all of this. Is this a normal healing process or do we have a problem?
