I visted my local mall pet store again today. I wrote down the snail address of Penn-plax who makes heat rocks for Igs and who does not answer e-mail.
I noticed in the back of the store, there were two baby iguanas on sale for $5.88 because they had lose half of their tails. I asked what happened to their tail. I was told they someone must have frightened them and it was a defense mechanism. The tails were black at the break as if burned. There was a heat rock in the cage. We left NIAD material here 3 months ago.
I also saw a boy bugging his mother for an iguana. Finally the mother said, yes they are $5.88, but it probably will cost another $100.00 for a cage. I told her to expect more than that and then told her they would get 6 feet. I then got a picture of Sammy out of my purse. She asked if they were friendly. I said they were if they were handled. She said she was afraid that they would grow tired of it. I said yes, they tend to become mom and dad's pet.
