HD, thank you for your quick response to my post, but for the rest of you - Please ignore my post below asking for suggestions about Trex vs. the A/C.
I came home from being out all day at about 8pm and found Trex laying on his basking area, with his tongue hanging out a little. He was barely breathing, so we rushed him to Tufts Veterinary School's emergency room. Unfortunately, he was gone before we got there. I still don't know exactly what killed him, so we opted to spend the money to have a necropsy done.
I miss him so much already! I can't believe how much it hurts.
Skinny and Juby, you should probably take his pics off the family album page. We don't have "In memory of..." section, huh? Maybe we could start one. He was such a good friend.
I want to thank you all for all your good advice and the fun I've had on this forum and in the chats (the few I made it to). Also, even though he's gone, I will probably still "lurk" around this board and others to continue learning whatever I can about the captive care of iguanas. I don't want his death to be in vain. I intend to try to educate other new iguana owners on how to prevent their igs from dying at 5 1/2 yrs old.
Anyway, thank you all.
- Carrie (missing Trex)
