Ok, first off this is my opinion, I would just keep a close eye on your igs toes everyday. Somethings you can't get around certain things.....carpet for the most part, is one of those things. Yes, there is a danger of what you mentioned. But with monitoring your iguana every day it shouldn't be a problem. We should all inspect our iguana's daily whether free roamers or caged. I make sure I scan Harry and Lola every day....because you never know what they can do/happen to them during the day when you are not around. So now harry has managed to "dent" his large scale on his head....he'll be ok but now I have to figure out how he did it, and see if I can make sure he doesn't do it again.
