Number 2: (M.O. and that's just what it is) I really don't care to know anything about importing iguanas into the US, other then, when they stop doing it. Breeders in this country wouldn't be bad at all, if the importers would stop bring iguanas into the country. I don't believe the breeders we have in this country right now, could keep up with the large amount being imported....so the loss of iguana's lives would be, to a large part, cut down.
As I ....and I repeat.....as I see it, if there's a fire ( iguana's dying) and you're throwing a bucket of water on it ( educating the public) but on the other side is a importer who is throwing gasoline on the fire (bringing more iguanas into the country) chances are, you're not going to do much to the fire ( continued iguana deaths) so.....if they choose to say they are NOT a part of the problem.....then what the H@LL......we might as well give up the fight.
And if Joan, you have read all the postings, you would see that if it wasn't for Kev and other importers, the US wouldn't have iguanas......but hey......it's not their problem there's too many in this country!!!!! Blame it on DEMAND.....give me a break.....so what if the demand is there.....who pointed the gun at these importers to continue bringing iguanas in????????? Oh let me guess......the uneducated iguana owner....by what Kev says.....LOL !!! I've heard it all.... Blast him??? Heck yes I will.....if he cared about iguanas......he wouldn't need a picture painted for him.....it's clear as day what is going on in this country with all the unwanted iguanas!!! But then again......Kev has valuable information to give......keep importing iguanas into the US.....wow! I really haven't seen him post anything to do with stopping the needless deaths in this country, only defending importers and making excuses!!!! Sorry Joan, no offense to you, I'm just answering your questioning of what is going on lately.
Yes I have strong feelings for the breeding issues RIGHT NOW.....only because thousands are dying.....and WE ALL can do a part in stopping it....not just educating the uneducated iguana owner. Pick one of the following: Educate, rescue, stop breeding, stop importing. Which one do you think would slow down the deaths the quickest? I would have to say importing, with breeding coming in second.....then education and last rescue. But who doesn't want to help????? Importers and breeders.
Joan, I hope you understand....I have no hard feelings for you or Dino.....I can't say the same for Kev. I don't like that Dino is breeding iguanas now but that's my opinion. I would never want to have him quit posting here.
