In the wild, annectens may intergrade with affinis in the eastern part of it's range. However, I would consider the captive breeding of these two subspecies a hybrid. In my opinion, natural intergrades don't occur in captivity and any given subspecies can demonstrate considerable variability in different parts of it's range.
