I have 2 hatchling eastern hogs. I've always had a feeding problem. Currently one eats scented pinkies and the other will not touch them and will only feed assist (when the pinkie is in her mouth she will do the rest). They both seem like uninterested feeders but the other day I put 2 live toads in their cage to intice them into eating. These toads were maybe 3x larger then they could possibly handle. Immediately these little guys became aggressive feeders, chasing these oversized toads around the cage and latching on to their legs.
This got me thinking. Is it possible to fatten my stubborn feeder through the winter on toad pieces and then convert her to pinkies in the spring? Or will this just make a tough job even harder when it comes time to convert?
