I'm usually lurking, but rarely do I have much to say since topics usually revolve around captive maintenence and breeding. Actually, I saw a fairly nice cinctum yesterday. The two problems with it were, it was preserved and it was from Pinal Co, AZ. I agree that subspecific recognition of Gilas based on pattern is problematic at best. Cinctum looking suspectum pop up throughout the range of suspectum. One of the nicer looking "cincspectums" I saw came from the border of AZ and NM. With enough time in captivity and enough people breeding Gilas, people will select what they want monsters to look like. Personally, I'm waiting for the tic-tac-toe patterned monsters to hit the market.
