help with baby crickets>>>

I was keeping babies in a rubbermaid with egg crate, damp tissue on a lid and heat pad but they would all die. Someone said they had success with putting moist soil witch I did and they are staying alive. My quetion is how do I keep it moist inside with drowning the crickets by spraying the water?
