I have a idea on killing roadents, is it safe/humane?

Hey all, Im about to get into breeding roadents, but what would happon if you took a big tin can (like a big coffee can) and put alot of roadents in it and put a candle in and light it? Also were is the best place to get dry ice? Well thanks for any advice,
