Are there no good vets here? mite/ticks/ivermectin

To make a long story short..
Sunday I picked up a ball python, was supposed to be CB, ended up having mites and ticks.. something I didn't notice until I brought the snake and it's enclosure into my reptile room.. it was there until yesterday, when I noticed the mites..
I took the snake to a vet(one I found on the arav website) this morning. He gave her an injection of ivermectin and said my other animals couldn't be affected by the mites unless they were housed together... i wish i had left instead of letting him do that to my snake... but I screwed up.. now what?
