Sexual maturity in Western Diamondbacks (C. atrox)

Can any of you tell me what the minimum size, if there is one, for a male C. atrox to reach sexual maturity is/ would be??

I keep reading all I can find and every reference says the same thing.... like they're all quoting the same document... 3 years or 36" (rough quote)...

Is this true?
