Yes reptariums are dark. Yes cricket's can chew through them. As for uvb not passing through i seriously doubt that one. I don't recall any studies only peoples opinions. Mine were fine in them from hatchlings to adult hood with no apparent problems. I also use all screen cages sold all over the net. I prefer them as crickets cant chew out, and it's visually better. The upside of Reptariums is they come in huge sizes the largest being 260 gallons. I had to decide on a reptarium or all screen cage last week and went for the all screen.
