I think what fryguy is referring to is that Reptariums reduce ALL types of incoming light, not just UVB. The screening material is known as “50% shade cloth”, meaning that 50% of all types of incoming light are blocked (see link below). This is used over greenhouses to grow plants requiring shade.

Unless you put the bulbs inside the cage you’re loosing half of the bulbs output.
