I agree that the price is kinda steep but what the last few years have been is a struggle to be in place and producing morphs before the price drops and they hit the main stream market. This happens with most morphs in most snake species if they are popular. It is just really pronounced in ball pythons because they only have a few babies per clutch. Burms and Retics will have clutches of 50 or 60 if they are large enough. Boas will drop in the 40's. They devalue themselves by the size of their clutches. Also, each producer will usually drop the price a bit because there is one less person willing to spend the 20K or even 5K. When you are talking about this much money, your market is pretty razor thin. Selling morphs is really a struggle to be in the right place at the right time. The exorbitant prices are just there to assure that once you are in the right place you can stay there.
Thats always been my take. The morphs of today will be the norm for tomorrow.
