:im settingup a 29 gallon viv, and iwas wondering how many watts should i go with a power compact light, i know they can get hot ( i have a salty tank and got burned by it) but they give off bright light which i know is good for some plants and moss. i dont want to over heat the tank but i want to keep my plants healty aslong with the frogs

I working on a 29g viv for some bicolors too. I went with a 55 watt kit from AH supply but haven't made the hood yet.I have a 36watt cf light on my kahlua and creams tank and it seems to work great.So, I guess it's up to you............Mark W.
