green tree frogs.. calling or something else?

hi there,
i posted here about a month ago.. since then, my two green tree frogs (hyla cinerea) have flourished.. they are almost twice the size they were when i got them. (they were VERY small then, and still have some growing to do now.)
my question is this.. is there a definitive way to tell the males from the females? i thought i heard a noise from their tank.. it scared the bejeezus out of me this evening. it was a loud... WOKWOKWOK sound.. or something. is that calling.. orrr something else?
