I have 2 Mexican Leaf Frogs (Pachymedusa dacnicolor). I have purchased the Red Eye and other Leaf Frogs book and have read the article in whichever magazine it was in. I even have a sound wave of these guys. I have been trying to determine, if possible yet, what the sex of my two frogs is. According to what I've read, there is a shape difference in the nose. I really can't tell with mine.
I have never heard either of them croak, but they are both still young. But, this morning I was getting a weight on them and decided to measure them while I had them out. Both made funny little repeating soft croaking sounds while I was measuring them. Does this mean I have males, or do females make sounds to tell us to leave them alone?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Marcia
