What's the right tortise to get? Turtle?Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am iterested in getting a tortise but I also want a painted turtle. I can't decide. I heard that tortises tend to be friendlier and less shy than turtles. If anyone has a tortise or a turtle,(painted) please write back to me because I need to make a decision. If you have a painted turtle, in general are they shy? Do they hide in their shell as soon as they see you coming? I would love it if you wrote back.Thanx!!!
