Roy,
you have to think, why do you want a tortoise/turtle?
To see it bored in a tiny enclosure,sitting in one place all day like a bump on a log. Not much fun for you or the tortoise/turtle.

Or to watch it movng around in a nice size enclosure, digging, climbing , exploring it's suroundings etc?

I'm rehoming my sulcatas this month, they are going crazy in their approx' 30'x 70' enclosure.They are moving on, to a new home with far more room.

But that enclosure would be wonderul for a small species.It would offer plenty of room, places to hide, dig, explore etc.

The sulcata are bored, not enough room, not enough shade now and not enough grazing area.

It's far better/kinder to keep a small species in a large enclosure. Than a large species in a small enclosure.
Just my two cents.....
