I got a hatchling sulcata yesterday. His cage is a 20 long with a basking bulb on one end. (temp around 85) A 7% uvb bulb covers the rest of the cage. I have a butter tub lid for water and one for his food. I have offered him small pieces of squash, zucchini, soaked tortoise pellets and some fresh wheat grass. the only kind of hay that i can find around here is the alfalfa for rabbits. I read that that isn't good for them. he has an appropiate size hide box also. I have papertowels for substrate because i want to see what his feces look like and take a sample to my vet. I soaked him today for 20 minutes. So far he has eaten one little piece of wheat grass. He seems to be active as far as moving about the enclosure. I tried to order some hay and cactus pads from turtle cafe but she is on vacation. Is there anything else i can do or am i just worrying too much? He is 2 weeks old. PLease respond and thanks in advance for any help.
