if hes missing or having a hard time eatinging, chop up his food as little as you can, also try an enticing little treat (a tiny sliver of strawberry maybe) its not very good for them but a tiny piece wont hurt him, honest! kinda mush it a bit over the food he'll regularly be eating, like his pellets. so when he gets some nutrition out of it and so he can get used to the pellets. unless the breeder gave you the same food he had them on, you need to remember that hes not used to what hes given now. if he doesnt eat within a few days, get him to a vet and get him out of that tank regardless!!!! i have a wooden cage with a sliding glass front. i leave the glass open about an inch (for extra ventilation) and i have the top off. my cage is barely a foot high so heat doenst get trapped. think about it this way- a tank is basiclly a green house. the glass is going to trap the heat in, and make him way to hot, i know that when its hot outside, i dont like to eat much, so if you cant get him out of a tank yet, make sure the wattage is low. 60 watts should be okay. and have it alllll the way to the end. also try putting his food dish at the cool end.
