I am using rabbit pellets. They help control any oder and keep the russians bone dry. Staying dry is very important to prevent shell infections. I tried reptile bark but the torts started running aroun like they were going nuts. I immediately replaced it with the pellets and they went back to normal. Aspenapparently looks like food. Corn cob can get impacted. Marissa recomends sand and dirt(make sure theirs no "white ball" in the potting soil). I may give this a try. Also put a large pile of timothy hay or alfalfa with them so they can burrow into it and they will be happy!
