Hi. I keep and breed hermann's tortoises and would be happy to share my care sheet with you, if you like. I never had a hermann's tortoise that refused all but one kind of food but I did receive two box turtles that were spoiled and would only eat cat food when I first got them. They were very puffy from eating too much animal protein. I had to be strong in only offering them non animal foods until they gave in and began eating the other food. It is quite difficult to do this when you are attached to a tortoise but they will not starve themselves to death. If you are worried, get a gram scale to monitor the tortoise's weight. Be strong and soon he will begin to eat other types of food. Let me know if I can be of further help. Take care. Janie
