My baby sulcata is about 4mos. old. I have had him about 3 weeks and while I was gently examining his plaston tonight, I noticed it would indent a bit on either side. He had been soaking in the water dish, so I wasn't sure if this was the cause, but it worried me that it could be pushed inward like that.
Is this normal for a hatchling? My other baby's shell is very hard in that area, but she was not soaked this evening, so I'm not sure if hers would do this or not if soaked. Also, it didn't seem to bother him when I was applying this gentle pressure, but I was wondering if I should just not apply pressure
at all when examining him (this was the first time I had done this sort of examination) for fear of harming him in some way. Please let me know if this is a normal thing or if I should have a vet examine him. Thanks for the help!
