on my snake(s). On Teddy (tortoise) I bring him
in along with a fecal every 4 months or so, but
I'm just interested in her keeping tabs on him
anyways. With my CB Leopard Geckos after 2 consecutive
negatives I check them every 6 months but probably
a year might be OK. I let my geckos outside though
and they hunt spiders and things, so in case they
pick up some slugs or something, I keep them on
a tighter schedule too. Depends on if the animal
is Captive Bred or wild caught and also the diet
and environment. CB snakes can get parasites from
mice for example. Teddy's outside eating who
knows what! so I like to be on top of these things.
After treating any animal I like to have two
consecutive negatives 2 weeks apart before I feel
like they're good. I would not suggest de-worming
blindly or as a routine because I know it hits
them to some smaller or stronger degree, it's a
poison essentially and unless needed, it's not
(in my opinion) very wise or necessary to do.
