My sulcatas poop has me VERY worried!!

My 2 brand new sulcatas poop is pur white!! In the soaking bowl it looks like toothpaste!! Is this normal?? I currently feed them a 1:1 ratio of chopped hay and romain lettuce. Is this right?? His cage temp is 75 in the cool spot and almost 100 in the basking spot. It this right?? I red a post below that in a aquarium set up you should tape paper to the sides so it produces less stress. Is this what I should do?? Both my torts are about 2 inches. Any help is appreciated.
