Hey,
good luck with your new turtle by the way I wouldn't handle it more than 15 minutes a day it may stress it out. I hanlde mine eveyother day to transfer from it cage to the feeder container and when I clean the cage thats it and it fine. I have had it all its life was shipped to me when it was just 8-11 days old I bought it the day it hatched. It has never in thesix months I've had tried to bite me out of fear, your hande it should help but it all depends. Some say that after about 4'' is when they start beign nasty I have had a coupel tame snappers but most are snappy good luck.
