Snapping Turtles biting

When I was younger I found a hatchling common snapper (Jaws) that I raised to at least 6" before releasing, and he never one tried to bite me, and I handled him quite a bit (I was like 10 years old).

Another time I caught an adult (wild), at least 12" that I could actually pic up and pet!! (definately do not recommend trying this!!!!!)
