Making some calls today to the courthouse and getting in contact with the local county agent. I called a local pet store that has very high standards and is one of the best pet stores around here. They have steered me in the right direction and I will let everyone know how it goes. What is bad, is the local pet store I called knew exactly which pet store I was complaining about!! Evidently this is not the first complaint they have had filed against them!
: In the responses that I've read so far, no-one has actually offered you any suggestions for concrete action. These are a few of the things I'd suggest:
: 1) The local Humane Society;
: 2) Talking to a reporter at the local newspaper, and suggesting that the paper run an exposé story on this place, or on petshops in general;
: 3) Posting handbills on local bulletin boards, warning everyone;
: 4) Picketting the joint.
: Needless-to-say, the third action would require some fortitude on your part, and the fourth would require determination and time. If done, you must be sure that you only include THE FACTS, and that those facts are easily verifiable by anyone that chooses to take a look at the situation. Ideally, you should get pics to support your stance. Do you have access to a digital camera?
