Hello, I have been shopping around for a new snake for a while now. I would like to apologize for the length of this posting to start with, but I would appreciate any info I could get so I can care for my prospect snake/s properly, and I ask anyone who may have info pertinent to this to please post a reply...Thx in advance.
I currently have a 5 ft jungle carpet python. I have previously had several varieties of american corns, including normal, snow, albino, along w/ a few others. I went to a new pet shop today, that i have never been to before. I saw 2 beatiful captive bred snakes, which they said were chinese corn snakes. They said they eat feeder goldfish, and they didn't know if they would eat pinkies or not, or if it was good for them. I came back home, without buying, because I never buy any animal without researching the requirements of them. I haven't been able to make any conclusions about them. I have heard they are E. rufodorsata, E. bimaculata and E. dione . I have heard they are true "rat snakes" and should be fed pinkies, I have heard they are water or garter snakes that should eat mainly fish, and maybe frogs and the like. I have looked at many websites, including this one, and no one seems to know for sure.

I would like to know which species you all think this is, and what care instructions, would you recommend, what temp., humid or desert type, pinkies or feeder goldfish, how large do they get? How big of a cage do they need. The ones I saw were about 18 inches long (approx), and were extremely tame, and appeared very healthy. The man at the petshop said they were pretty much full grown, and about 6mths of age.

The ones I saw reminded me of a jungle carpet python, in the deep rich black color, with several yellow or goldish lines going the length of them. The were being sold for $25 (american dollar). Any other info I should know. I thank you all very much in advance for any and all help you may be able to provide.
