: : : I would like to know which species you all think this is, and what care instructions, would you recommend, what temp., humid or desert type, pinkies or feeder goldfish, how large do they get? How big of a cage do they need. The ones I saw were about 18 inches long (approx), and were extremely tame, and appeared very healthy. The man at the petshop said they were pretty much full grown, and about 6mths of age.

: : : The ones I saw reminded me of a jungle carpet python, in the deep rich black color, with several yellow or goldish lines going the length of them. The were being sold for $25 (american dollar). Any other info I should know. I thank you all very much in advance for any and all help you may be able to provide.

: I'm going to try to put a link in to a previous post with some info and a pic of a bimaculata, one of my favorites.

That bimaculata is very nice looking. But it isn't black with yellowish stripes. As dione was said to be similar to bimaculata, I don't think Stephen's pet store snakes belong to either species. So they are either E. refodorsata or something else. Black with stripes is a description that shouts "garter snake" at me, not "corn snake." I'm wondering if those snakes could be the so-called Indonesian garter snakes. Unfortunately, I don't know much about any of these snakes, off the top of my head.

Stephen, nearly full grown and 6 months old do not agree for any snake I know much about. I'd advise independent confirmation before accepting anything the pet store guy says about the snakes. Good luck.
