Black rat juvenile in local shop--are they asking to much

Saw black rat juvie in local shop. Maybe 18 inches long--old enought to have turned black. They are asking ca. $70 for it. Is that too high in your opinions? Looking for a good 1st time snake (other than corns--they don't turn me on for some reason). Are obsoleta ok in that regard? Have a 29gal tank that was thinking of using for the animal. thanks
